When Beauty Becomes Artistry
Earlier this year, Amy Chan Hair and Makeup Artistry collaborated with some of Sydney and Australia’s most respected wedding creatives to produce a styled editorial shoot that was later featured on one of the country’s leading wedding publications, The Wedding Playbook. This shoot was created with intention, bringing together vision, collaboration and refined beauty to showcase a modern approach to bridal makeup.
Rather than following trends, the focus of this editorial was to elevate bridal beauty into something timeless and sophisticated. Every detail was carefully considered, resulting in a look that felt editorial yet wearable, polished yet natural. This approach reflects our philosophy as a Sydney makeup artist studio specialising in luxury bridal and editorial hair and makeup.
Bendooley Estate as the Creative Setting
The editorial took place at the picturesque Bendooley Estate, a venue known for its historic charm and romantic surroundings. The combination of heritage architecture, soft natural light and intimate cottage spaces provided the ideal canvas for this shoot. The setting allowed our team to balance refined glamour with effortless beauty, a style that continues to influence modern bridal makeup in Sydney.
Creating makeup for an editorial setting like Bendooley Estate requires a deep understanding of light, texture and longevity. Bridal makeup must translate beautifully across different lighting conditions, from gentle morning light to deeper shadows, ensuring every image feels cohesive and cinematic.
As a Sydney wedding makeup artist studio, Amy Chan Hair and Makeup Artistry regularly collaborates with leading industry vendors to create editorial work that reflects our signature style. For this shoot, hair and makeup were created by our creative director Amy Chan, focusing on luminous skin, softly defined features and a refined finish that photographed effortlessly.
The styling was completed with stunning gowns and accessories by Hope and Page, adding an elegant and contemporary touch to the overall aesthetic. Together, the collaboration resulted in a chic and timeless editorial that celebrates modern bridal beauty and showcases the artistry behind luxury wedding hair and makeup.
