Asian Wedding Makeup Artist Amy Chan first met Queenie and Edward during their pre wedding photoshoot in Japan. Japan holds deep meaning for them, as it was where Edward proposed to Queenie. Returning there to capture their memories felt natural and deeply personal. During our time together, we created more than just beautiful images. We built a genuine connection, spending long days exploring unique restaurants, sharing conversations, and forming a friendship that extended beyond hair and makeup.

Almost one year later, it was time for their wedding day in Sydney. With their wedding date being one of the most popular dates of the year, the day began early for everyone involved. As a Sydney Asian wedding makeup artist, my team and I started the morning at another wedding before arriving to meet Queenie. Despite the early start, the excitement and anticipation made every moment worthwhile.

Queenie and her bridal party, including Edward’s sister, were refreshed and ready when our hair and makeup team arrived. They understood that Asian bridal makeup often requires an earlier start, but for Queenie, supporting her best friends and creating a calm morning atmosphere was worth it. We began wedding hair and makeup in their suite at The Langham Hotel in Sydney, beautifully styled with white French provincial furniture and fresh flowers.

The morning was filled with laughter, shared stories, and food lovingly prepared by the mother of the bride. These quiet, meaningful moments are some of my favourite parts of being a Sydney Asian makeup artist, as they allow the bride to feel relaxed, supported, and fully present.

While Queenie had her bridal portraits taken in the suite, Edward waited outside, excited and nervous to see his bride for the first time. They chose to have a private first look, allowing them to share an intimate and uninterrupted moment before walking down the aisle.

Following their first look, they took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed to Bradleys Head for wedding photography. Having already experienced a pre wedding shoot together, Queenie and Edward were completely at ease in front of the camera and effortlessly embraced every moment.

As an Asian wedding makeup artist based in Sydney, my focus is always on creating bridal makeup that feels natural, refined, and timeless. Queenie’s makeup was designed to enhance her features while photographing beautifully in natural light, ensuring she felt confident and radiant throughout her entire wedding day.
