UNSURE WHERE TO START?
Follow Our Cheat Sheet Below To Kickstart Your Journey To Perfect, Flawless Skin!
When should you start looking after your skin and getting facials?
-
NOW, or as soon as possible! The more time your skin can adjust to this new and fabulous routine, the better your skin will get. The smoother your skin, the better everything looks in person and in photos. We always use the weight loss example, if a person wants to loose 100kg in 9 months (for example), he/she will need to start as soon as possible, NOT 2 months out from the deadline. The skin, just like our bodies need time to adjust to new changes and adapt to the new routine. It needs time to heal before it can repair, and most importantly maintain the result once you achieve your result. We don't want your skin yo-yoing back to square one. The more attention you give your skin, the better and faster it'll respond.
How long do I have to do this for?
-
Our answer will always be, 'as long as you want to look good for'. Once you love your result, there won't be any reason why you want to go back to where you started as your skin will only get better! :)
Tips that will most definitely benefit you (and your partner):
-
Eyebrows: Try leave your eyebrows undone (as bushy as possible) so that we can shape them when we see you. You can start this approximately 2 months before your session with us.
-
Exfoliate your skin regularly, we suggest 2-3 times a week, and preferably with a non granular exfoliant.
-
Jurlique Daily Exfoliating Cream: This contains oats, so it's very nourishing for the skin, but please make sure you have no allergies before using it.
-
Exfoliate your lips with a soft toothbrush dipped in warm water every night. Once this becomes a habit your lips will be forever soft.
-
Masks: Start using masks regularly, the best ones are traditional wash-off ones as it's the easiest to find and wash off completely. Here are a few options we highly recommend:
-
Hydrating Mask is always a good idea as every skin lacks hydration at some point. If you like, you can alternate between these 3 and can be used every night.
-
DMK Hydrating Masque (can be used every night, even after washing off another mask)
-
-
Apply AFTER your night skincare routine for best results
-
DO NOT use it the night before the event as it cannot be washed off properly the next day
-
-
La Mer 'The Intensive Revitalising Mask 75ml'

Clay Mask helps dry out excess oil and clears your pores. Use this once a week for maintenance, else if you have breakouts, you can use it up to twice a week. Or apply it only on your T-Zone (or break-out areas) and apply a hydrating mask in the other areas.

Skin clinic we absolutely swear by and highly recommend:

This is a paramedical skin clinic, specialising in anti-aging, skin rejuvenation, acne, scarring, redness, pigmentation as we as internal health. Amy used to be one of the trainers in Paramedical Beauty, specialised in Asian skin, and this was one of the big brands she worked with. Out of all the ones out there, she found this was the brand that gave the quickest but long lasting incredible results. But of course every skin is different and will depend on the result you want and how long you've had the concerns for. They'll be able to help you with internal health (which plays a big part in our skin) to achieving that effortless glow everyone wants.

Please note they DO NOT offer laser treatments.

This is a paramedical laser clinic I swear by. There are many clinics across Sydney and we found this one to be the most honest and very attentive when it comes to brides and their big days. For a bridal glow, we recommend booking the 'Genesis Laser'. This is a non-invasive laser with NO downtime and can be done on the week of the wedding to boost the skin for a glass skin effect as well as eliminate redness (Amy came across this clinic by chance and has fallen in love with the results). If you can, try booking this once a month and your results will speak for themselves. Please click on the link above to learn more about Genesis Laser.

Contact lenses and coloured contacts:
-
If you intend to wear contact lenses on your wedding day (coloured or clear) but normally only wear glasses on a day-to-day basis, start wearing contact lenses 3-4 times a week so your eyes can adjust to them. This will also help prevent your eyes from tearing up, drying up and going red as well as trialling the colours that might look good on you.
-
We recommend a hazelnut colour (light to medium brown) or grey colour, as dark brown doesn't do its justice, especially in photos and will just look black.
-
Make sure you test out different brands if the first one you tried is not as comfortable as you thought. Also, it's important to know you're not allergic to anything.

We highly recommend Queenie from Five Dock Optometry. She has a huge range of the latest high-quality contact lenses and frames. She's also very professional and patient with the added advantage of being able to prescribe medication and/or provide assistance with any eye-related issues as needed.
